Default SEL keeps coming on when accelerating/climbing hills...

Alooooooha! Time for me to tap into your infinite knowledge base here! Ran a search and nothing came up, but basically this is it: my SEL will come on when accelerating, mostly always when going up a hill and the engine is getting past 2000 rpm; it'll stay on for a few days, then go away, usually when I'mfinally free to take her in. I have not checked her out yet, and I'm wondering ifanything wouldeven show up on the scan if I take her in without the light on.My baby is a 2000 4-dr/4WD 4.3L model, no major problems aside from the usual (door sag, busted seat handle).Much mahalo (thanks) in advance to anyone who can shed some light on this one!

Not much to go on until you get the codes read and let us know what they are. If you have an AutoZone close by, have them read the codes for you.

Definitely need the code(s). They should store even if the light is off, but the scanners used at your local (insert favorite chain autoparts store name here) may not read inactive codes.

I'm guessing that it will probably be something misfire related. When was the last time a general tune up was performed (plugs, wires, cap, rotor, fuel filter, clean EGR valve, clean MAF sensor, etc)?

Okay, thanks guys... well, the light turned off again, but hopefully Checker's can do a scan and we can go from there. I'll get back to you with the codes. Speaking of which, is there a page that has all the codes listed around here? Thanks again!
