Hey guys i got a junk,yard motor put in my blazer(other one spun a bearing after LIM gasket chage). I changed the oil and switched to synthetic mobil 1. Now service engine light comes on and off, very wierd. Seems like it runs fine and everything. good oil pressure ect,k any ideas?

 

What code is it throwing?

 

i dont,now i havent brang it in yet to get code

 

Wouldn't think the oil change would have affected anything that would cause a CEL. Unless some wire got knocked loose or something. Have the code scanned. Otherwise we can't help ya much.

 

the oil might need to be reset and it usually runs with the check engine light. turn the key to the on position(engine off) and press the gas pedal down 3 times within 3 seconds. see if that works

 

OIL has nothing to do with triggering the CEL light. Get the codes scanned and go from there.
