Default Service Engine Soon light

I realize this topic may have been covered probably a dozen times before, so I apologize if this is nothing new.

My Service Engine Soon light came on the other day. I own a 4-door 2000 Chevy Blazer with 98,000 miles. I've never had any problems with the engine - it has always ran great. Even now, the engine sounds fine - nothing out of the ordinary. Just wondering what may have caused this light to come on???

There is only one thing I've noticed that doesn't seem to be right - when I push the gas pedal down, you can hear a hissing sound - like leaking air. So, some type of air leak is going on. Other than that, the Blazer runs great.

Thank you.

What are the codes that are present? You have to get the truck scanned to retrieve the codes. A lot of parts stores will do this for free. Get it scanned and let us know the specific codes (Pxxxx - ex P0151) and we'll go from there.

There is an AutoZone around the corner from my place. You think they'll do it for free?

I have to work late tonight, but I'll take it over tomorrow afternoon for sure.
