Default Service manual say distributor flat part should face front of truck, why dpesnt mine?

I been on a quest to fix the issues with my 02 4 door blazer and went out and bought a whole new distributor for my 4.3 v6 and service manual says flat part of distributor should face front of truck but when I got my engine at top dead center and put my distributor back in as it says it should with flat facing front my installation bracket hole doesn’t line up to the hole in block to mount it. The distributor would have to be slightly slanted or angled in order to mount it in proper installation hole. Is that right? It can’t be what is wrong with this picture?

The actual position of the distributor body only matters to the degree that the plug wire terminals are sticking out the same side as the plugs they go to, and that you can insert the bolt in the hold-down.

What's critical is the position of the rotor in relation to the distributor body. As long as the rotor points at the right cap terminal at the right time, it makes no difference if the distributor itself is perfectly "straight" or not.

I hope that makes sense.
