Default Shift indicator doesn't tell what gear it's in

I can switch to drive and all fine but the orange indicator doesn't move is there somewhere I can buy a new one or how to fix it

Neutral safety switch its the black box on the driver side of the tranny fairly easy to replace part costs around $40 here is a link to orielly's http://www.oreillyauto.com/site/c/se...zer&vi=1361461

I'm gonna take a guess and say u have a center console in yours!??? For that I am not sure, however a neutral safety switch isn't the answer to your problem either...... I say take it apart carefully and take a look......

I'm interested to see how this turns out. My wife's s10 had the same issue. Column shift and intermittent gear indicator outage. I could be mistaken in this case but in mine it was neutral safety switch

I've taken console apart and it is a white plastic piece on the bottom of the part that has the Prnd on it that is broke I don't know what it's called and also can't find one may try dealership or junkyard if icould up load pictures i could show what im talking about but either i don't know how or it won't let me
