snap on makes a tool for the third spark plug
since im a mechanic i asked my snap on dealer one day if they perhaps made a socket for this stupid design he said yes they do its a socket with the rachet drive insert offset so u can put the ratchet in without the steering shaft in your way i've used it everytime i do a change here is the picture of the tool

Yeah, but for its price of $33.95 I expect it to come with somebody to wrench it for me.

hey bigrig, what's the part # for that socket?

yeah, i had that same idea, when i was looking for that socket i needed for the Lynx. i'm a machinist, and was gonna make one. but the time to finish it the right way, and the fact that i could find a socket that was really close to the one i needed, i said forget it (still have the info i drew up for fabricating it in my tool box-the wife's right, i never throw out anything!)

yea besides the jimmy i've used it a couple rare times i work on heavy duty diesel semi's, and there are many tight places in them also

or you can get an extension that has the woble end like this then you don't need it

yeah, i don't know about the wobble extension (doesn't give enough angle all the way out). i've always used two 12" extensions on an universal spark plug socket, and gone through the driver's wheel well skirt. but i'm having a friend pick me up on of these. thanks for the post bigrig.

If ur taking about 94 to 05 blazers, I just went throrough the wheel wells with a regular extension to do the plugs on my 95. It only took me about 25-30 minutes to do all 6. U can get right under the steering shaft and the plugs can be seen very easy this way.

uhhh....yeah......isn't that what i just said? besides, it'll apply to ALL the S series trucks ('82 upto '05)
