Default so when your tranny fails...

Thank you God that my transmission has failed/gone out, but i was curious, if any of you have had your tranny fail, did you just replaced it with the same trans or did you get something new and more powerful/stronger...i know the engines in our trucks are amazing an all but everyone i have talked with about the blazers and 4.3s, the first thing they ask/say is if my trans has failed or you will be replacing that soon. Thanks for any comments guys.

You are pretty much stuck with the 4l60. unless you put in a non electronic controlled 700r4. which is almost the same thing.

You can have them build to be stronger etc. corvette servos, better sunshells etc.

The first time my trans went bad, I had it rebuilt using stock replacement parts.

When that failed, I had it upgraded with better clutches, etc.

Default i recommend rebuilt or new

The sun shells in these transmissions are made in China and are poor quality. I, and many others, loose 2nd, 4th, and reverse when this breaks. I wouldn't get one out of a junkyard, or you could end up doing it again.

Just find a quality shop to rebuild it better than stock.
