Stalling Issue 2001 Jimmy
I am happy to join this community. The problem I have is:
I stop at a light or stop sign the car idles about 500 rpm, I go to take off and it revs to 1000 rpm like normal then sputters and stalls out like it is getting fuel starved. It starts up fine right away and usually I can go .
It seems to do this on hot days above 85. Usually I have only driven for 20 minutes or so and have to worry about this issue.
I used to run down the take to almost empty to see my gas mileage so I thought it might be a vapor lock but is has done this even on a half tank of gas.
I got a tune up new plugs wires rotor cap fuel filter air filter and I cleaned the mass air sensor and most of the throttle body ( I could not get it completely off, I'm still a novice).
I also noticed after my tune up the car did not run any smother after the tune up. I bought it at 32000 miles in Dec 12. The original owner just had a major tune up from the dealer and it ran great. He then let it sit in a garage for 5 years and only put 600 miles on it.
When I start it up in the morning it misses and the steering wheel shakes.
The place I had the tune up done said the plugs were pre-gapped and I wonder if they missed a step or perhaps did not set the rotor cap in just right.
I go the tuneup at 60000 miles.
When I start it up in the morning it misses and the steering wheel shakes.
Seems a truck with low miles should run really smooth.
Any ideas are kindly appreciated, I'm a a novice but I really want to learn more.
Thanks,
Steve in Ocala

Thanks for your response!
When I bought it back in back in 2013 I did put in Seafoam and I have put in some recently to see if that helps me with the stalling issue but it does not. I think the guy who had it in the garage did start it once in a while but that was a long time ago.
It ran pretty rough when I started it up clearly missing this morning.
