Default Straight 6 vs V6

I have a straight 6 and was thinkin of puttin it in my 91 s10 blazer, but I dont the specs between the straight and the 4.3 thats in it. Straight is carb and V6 is fuel injected, wonderin which would be better in like performance

Wow. Lotsa work there. Aninline engine will usually have more torque than a similarly sized V engine, but it's the packaging that designers don't like. It will be about twice as long, so the first thing to check is if there will be room for itwithout doing extensive mods to the radiator core support area (and possibly firewall) and the motor mount location on the frame will almost certainly need to be modified as well. I'm a big believer in fuel injection, but a properly adjusted carb isn't a bad thing. If you get that far, there are other sensors on the original engine that will either have to be deleted or fiddled with somehow to fool the computer into thinking they are still there and operating okay.
Unless it's a "toy" that you don't mind turning into a project, I think I would stick with the original design - or read through the threads in this forumfor putting a small block in it. A V8 from the same era as your V-6 shares a lot of the electrical setup. You'd have more power without having to do MAJOR mods to the truck.

Funny...I didn't see your V8 thread when I wrote this. Hope they helped answer the question

Not to mention trying to get it to mate up to the tranny. Way too much work involved to try to make it work IMHO.

If you want a project that will be on. But IMHO the only I-6 worth that kind of would be the 4.2L in the modern Trailblazer, but as mentioned GM had to redesign the whole truck.
