I took a 2tad out and want to put in a 4kcd from a 2004 avalanche. Any problems?

2002 blazer 4.3 4l60e 4x4. Will a 2004 avalanche 5.3 4l60e 4x4 transmission bolt in with no modifications?

 

Are you asking if you can pull the same transmission your Blazer has off an Avalanche and fit it? Or are you talking about swapping the 4.3 for the 5.3?

 

I want to put the transmission from the 5.3 avalanche into my 4.3 blazer.

 

I'm pretty sure they are the exact same transmission. I'm sure someone with more intimate knowledge can confirm or deny.

 

Apparently, the pilot in the 5.3 torque converter will not fit in the 4.3 crankshaft. I am finding out now that the swap out requires that I use my forward input drum, pump,and bell housing with my 288mm tourqe converter. Electronics are identical.

 

I would PM Transman304 and see if he will answer. He knows all this stuff and how to make it work if it can be done.
