Throttle Cable clip broken...
Hey Guys,
Just had the intake manifold gasket replaced at 135,000. Was the second time it's been done. The shop that did the work (I think) broke the clip for the throttle cable that attaches to the throttle body. I don't have a picture to show, but it's that 1 inch long clip that the cable goes through, then there is a "u" shaped spot on the clip that fits over a nipple on the throttle body. I plan to take it to the shop Monday, just curious if anyone has replaced just the clip or is it one whole assy together? Also, what is that piece called anyone know.
Scary how I found out, went on the highway and the throttle stuck at 70 mph like the cruise was on. had to come off the ramp and throw it in N and shut it down, popped the hood and noticed the broken clip slid up the cable with the throttle open. Had to really be careful the rest ofthe way home.
I'm think the shop will take care of it, just never had this happen before.
