Default Ticking sound help

So the blazer has developed a ticking sound. The tick seems to get louder when i give it gas, its a little hard to tell because of my loud exhaust, but i cant quite pimpoint where its coming from. i think it might be coming from the valves sticking. i went to Napa and they said it was probably a valve thats sticking. They told me to put a bollte of seafoam in the oil and let it run for about 20 minutes before i changed my oil. Should i do this? will it help any help would be awesome.

Have you looked at the idea of an exhaust leak?

Well if it isn't something ratteling in the exhaust, remember little things make little noises, it could be a sticky valve, it could also be that something (probably a rocker) has some wear and tare on it and your hearing the gap clicking close somewere. This could be a # of things. The rockers could be worn, the lifters could be almost shot(if you have hydraulic lifters this could be an indication you are realy low on oil), or it could be a push rod that has bent a little. Best thing is pull the valve covers and rotate the engine by hand (breaker bar and socket) and check the lash on each valve at TDC of each cylinder, this is just time consumiing and annoying but it will more then likely tell you were the prob is.
