to put an 03+ in you just need to swap the lower intake manifold+exhaust mainfolds and drill/tap the knock sensor. that's it. everything works the same. mine happened to be out of an 03 sonoma 4x4 so i did not have to change the oil pan, but 2wd and 4x4 are different oil pans.

well I hope 1 and 4 are @top dead center or I think Im going to have some issues getting my engine to start.Guell I`ll find out when I got to adjust the valves
