Default Torque converter sticking

On four occasions in the past 7 months my blazer would have a lunging feeling
to it while at speed (40-60mph) I would have the cruise set and you could feel
the vehicle lunging.I finally took a closer look at the rpm's. I always
noticed the rpm's were steady when this was happening, but now I realized the
converter was not locking up. I was at 45mph and the engine was warm (180 +
degrees) and the rpm's were at 2,000. I pulled down a street and pulled back out
onto the main road and got on it hard bringing the rpm's up to 5,000. Once I was
at 45 I settled down and the converter locked in and the rpms were down around
1,500 and she was smooth again. By getting on it hard one of the other times
resolved the issue as well. Today it happened again. This time I shut the truck off and turned it back on to correct the problem as speeding up did not fix the issue.

What do you think I can/should do? Thanks.

I've had this problem before. Try running it on the highway for a few miles and then see if it is still doing it. If it is, and if it gets worse then check your fluid level, also when was the last time you had tranny work done? My transmission seemed to correct itself, one day it just started to work again without me having to do anything to it. Very strange, but these transmissions are extremely complex devices.

I will check the fluid level. Last time I checked was about 7-8,000 miles ago and it was still in good shape and the level was good.

My Blazer has about 81,000 miles on it and I have not had anything done to the transmission yet.
