Default RE: tranny problem?

Make sure your tranny is full of fluid first. Parked on level ground after 20minutes of driving with the engine running. Now check the fluid level. Bottom of the cross hatch to the top of hte cross hatch is 1 pint (1/4 of a quart bottle).

Did you use gasket maker on the tranny pan gasket?
If so, stop immediately. Remove that gasket sealer now. There is a drain back hole in the bottom of the tranny housing with a notch in the gasket to go around it. If you got sealer in that little hole, you WILL fry your tranny.

If neither of those apply. Did you replace the old filter gasket? The one stuffed up in the case? Did you get the old one out before you stuffed the new one in?
