Default tranny slip after over fill

ok folks hope you can help? i bought an 89 chevy blazer last week about 50 miles from my house drove just fine on the highway and all but then a relaative thouhgt the the tranny fluid was low so they added more well it worked just fine for awhile but then drive and overdrive started slipping well i drained some out but to no avail. so i did the filter and fluid change plus a bottle of lucas tranny fix same thing so i added one more bottle now it will grab drive and overdrive starting out but once it gets to a certain speed or rpm they both slip what can i do ? it seems once it hits 35 they slip but put on the brakes and bring it back down to 20 they catch again ...

Having your trans a little over full will not make it slip to my knowledge. I suspect the trans was toast when you bought it and a band aid was added to make it work until it was sold. Anything unusual in the pan when you dropped it?

no nothing out of the ordinary. but a few small plastic chunks from the filer tube ring that stops the tube from going too far in, also the fluid was almost black and smelt burnt really bad.

Default Agreed

Burnt/black fluid = toasted trans.
Now you have to decide is your jimmy in good enough condtion that its going to worth replacing it either used or rebuild.
