tranny swap
i was kind of thinking about trying to but a manual 5 speed in in my 86 s-10 blazer. it is auto right now and does not run. the tranny that is in it is shot and so is the engine. i bought this truck as a project/ hunting toy. just wondering what your thoughts are on converting to a manual.
i would just have to cut a hole for the clutch pedal. not really cut a hole but punch it out. i have never done anything like this before so not alot of experiance but i have the time. is it worth the work. i like the 5 speed and i should get better mileage and their would be less to go wrong right.
well they both have pro and cons for sure....an auto would just be swap and roll but auto trans are a sh*t ton of parts if u rebuild when a stick is fewer parts and easier to rebuild in my eyes
if the 5 speed is what you want and your willing to take the time itll be a snap just hit up your local junk yard for the pedal assembly and such and most def get a new clutch kit flywheel, disk, throw out bearing, pilot bearing befor install
