Default Trans Coolant Line Help

I had a small hole taken out of my coolant line that runs to the top of the radiator today (within a block of my house for the test run after installing my new suspension and steering parts). I believe I need to drop the trans to replace the hose. I have the replacement part, but I'm wondering if I should have this done by a professional. I also plan on changing the filter and obviously new fluid after the problem is fixed.

So, in short...Should I try to get it to a trans mechanic and how do I patch it to make it there?

Thanks,
Steve

I wouldn't think you would have to drop the trans for that. If its one of the metal lines running from the trans there's always a way to patch it. If its in the rubber line you can cut out the bad spot and put a metal line in there and hose clamp it. If its the metal line cut it out and use a rubber line with clamps. Usually if done right should hold up for years. Usually just starts leaking cause the clamps need to be tightened

It's in the metal right next to the starter. My dad brought home a few clamps and I'm about to put one on and see how it works. I'm glad to hear it will last a while though.
