I have 86,000 on my 01 4 door blazer 4wd, vortec v6. I just bought it, and all seems well, but I have a little concern that it may need a trans filter change and bands adjusted....Can I do it cheaper and easier myself or should i let a pro do it....I can change the filter and pan gasket ok, but the band adjustment scares me. and I want some good advice on tune her up. what plugs wires and all that stuff.....Cheap but quality stuff....thanks everyone

 

I would let the pro's do it. The tranny has to many small but very important pieces to be messin around with. As far as tune up goes, I just went down to NAPA and got the parts from them. Just make sure to get single platinum plugs. The theory of cheap and qualitydoes not really go into the same sentence. You get what you pay for is my motto.
