Default Trans squealing/ making funny noise

hey all,
So my trans (or i think it is) is squealing (best way i can think to describe it) it happens when it shifts from like 1st to 2nd and sometimes in the middle of the gear before it shifts. Originally it only started when i was on the gas fairly hard but now it does it all the time. I'm worried its going to grenade its self and then i'm out of luck. Does anyone have any ideas of what it could be? If you need more info please let me know.
Thanks for your help.

If it sounds like when a belt squeals you will have an input sprag failing. If you continue to drive you will definitely do more damage to be repaired at overhaul. It is an internal part and transmission has to come out. Sorry couldn't be better news.

Thanks for the help. Is the picture you included the part? Would it be worth it to have the whole trans rebuilt while its out?

Yes that is a failed input sprag in the pictures. You should always consider rebuild while transmission is out of the vehicle. That's where most of the time and cost are in labor on removing and reinstalling. Or you could go used or re manufactured transmission route.
