Default Transfer Case

I've got a 79 Full Size Custom deluxe. I recently got it and almost have it to the point where I can drive it. Unfortunately the transfercase shifter has not markings on it and i'm not real familiar with chevy transfercases. Does anyone know what the different positions are. I believe there are four stops that I can feel.

i hav a 93 full size blazer and on my pulled all the way to driver is 4 high, middle is 2 wheel, then all the way towards the engine is 4 low. they should be similar and if the fourth stop is between what i said was 4 low and 2 wheel then it is just neutral

Default RE: Transfer Case

Going strictly from memory, I believe it's 2HI all the way front, 4HI, neutral, 4LO... And it's been awhile since my dad sold his mid'70s pickups!! LOL. I think I'm right though.

*EDIT* - Didn't see the reply above. I am pretty sure that the pattern is different than the '80s trucks (after the redesign anyway).

thanks very much! you're right though, the older trucks' transfer cases only can be manipulated vertically there is no horizontal play on them.
