Default transfercase shifter extension ideas

hey i have a 3 in bl on my 88 blazer and i need some help or ideas on how to extend my t-case shifter. i can barely get it to stay in 2wd it barely locks in. please help me i look forward to your advice. you guys are awesome

If it looks anything like the mess on the '94 1500 I helped work on, either some All-Thread or fabricating a longer pivot arm is all that may be needed. That's all it looked like to me under there. I know the linkage allowed for some adjustment. Have you done any of that yet?

I went to a junk yard and got another shifter arm, it just screws on the linkage. I carefully cut the arm right above the threaded insert. Pulled the plastic rod out and welded in a 3 inch piece of 1/2 emt (electrical conduit), made a longer rod for the push button out of a welding rod. I then had to cut a wedge in it and bend the shifter back a few degrees to get it to go into 2hi.

If I were to do it again I would only use a 2 1/2 piece of emt as mine is almost too long.

thanks guys for the ideas im heaadin to the pick a part here in houston this week sometime and im gonna look for a longer one maybe from a 3500 or somethin i appreciate the quick responses
