Default Transmission Leak

I have a 1996 4x4 blazer. A few weeks ago, I noticed smoke coming from under the truck. Upon inspection, it was trans oil dripping on the exhaust that passes under the rear of the trans by the pan. I discovered that this really seemed to happen when driving the truck for more than 20 minutes. A short 5-minute run wasn't long enough to get the fluid dripping. I wasn't sure when the trans had been serviced so I opted to just replace the pan seal, filter, and fluid. That did not take care of the leak. It is coming from somewhere higher up and running down. It is just sitting because I am afraid of a fire or worse. Any ideas where to look and what to look for? I read a few posts about the dipstick tube and a vent? I am not sure where those are or what they look like. The leak does seem to be on the passenger side though. Any help would greatly be appreciated. This blazer is my key to the outdoors and camping. I really need it.

I have the same exact thing happening to me.
only on longer drives, and usually when giving it power uphill.
i know mine is coming out of the bleeder vent because it get all over my plugs and wires and cases a misfire until it burns it up.
the bleeder is right underneath the tranny dipstick, attached to it.
the dipstick itself is against the firewall toward the back of the motor, passengerside..
i hope somebody can help us out!!!

I haven't had this happen to me (fingers crossed) but I seem to remember something about fluid under pressure moving to or from the transfer case to the transmission. Perhaps this will help with finding a thread on this.

You are definitely not the only ones who have experienced this problem.
