Default Transmission line leak.

i just posted a previous post about how my blazer was over heating. i ended up buying a new radiator. got everything put back together. hoping it would work out. i go to start it and i look under the car and i notice transmission fluid dripping. i spotted where it was coming from. its coming from a hose connected to the transmission line bracket that comes from your radiator to the actual line itself. i took it off and it seems like the actual line has been cut in that spot from a previous leak and repaired with a rubber hose. i dont know much about it but im not sure if the transmission line is a solid metal line or if there indeed was a hose there. i bought a new hose and a few more clamps. got them put on like the old one. STILL leaking. but even worse now. im not sure if the transmission line is a pressurized line or what. or if you need some type of sealant with the hose. idk. but im pretty sure im going to have to buy a new line. but before i go doing that. any ideas??

go to the hardware store and get yo either a flaring tool a flared nut and a hose barb to connect to your new flare or use compression fittings and a hose barb

Stock was hard line all of the way. Sounds like someone twisted the end off of the transmission line at some point and did a quick repair job. A slight flare on the end of the line will allow for a better seal, but it is better to either put a full flare on it or to use a slip on compression fitting. The compression fitting is the easiest to do on an old line, just make sure that the line is clean where the fitting goes on.

Have you tried tighening up the clamp?

I would use two clamps on the repair side of the hard line, and one on the fitting end of the rad. You may have them too tight, but I doubt it. Are they new clamps?
