Hi i noticed my transmission has been shifting hard manily from 1st to 2nd or going up hills so i took out the dip stick and the fluild is really dirty and smells worse then new fluild so tommarow im going to drain it and put new fuild in and i was wondering where the transmission fluid filter is as i would like to change it to.

 

The filter is located inside the transmission pan. Use the new Dexron 6 transmission fluid.

 

the Dexron 6 fuild thats just the type correct? or is that a brand name of fuild to use?

 

Yes, it is the newest specification for the Dexron fluid type.
