Default Transmission swap info

Hi im new here and sorry if this is not in the proper forum.This is my question i have a 1995 blazer with 4.3 auto it is a truck that i have been parting out. I have a chance to pick up a 1999 GMC envoy it also has a 4.3 auto. i was told the trans from the 99 was rebuilt sometime ago and not to long after that the reverse went out.Will the trans from the 1995 fit in the 1999. Any info would be great.Also i should mention there both 4x4. Thanks

you sure its a envoy, those didnt exist in 99 and dont believe they ever had a 4.3. they did have a straight 6cyl 4.2

Hi, yep its a envoy it looks exactly like my daughters 99 gmc jimmy but headlights and awhole lot more comforts inside than the jimmy and It has a 4.3. Thanks

The cats correct. The envoy trim package was for the jimmy like the trailblazer package was for the blazer. The 99 will physically bolt in, but I'm not sure if the electronics will get along without additional work.

It won't work. 95 was an oddball year IIRC. Only 95's will directly bolt in.
