Troubleshooting P0335 but different colored wiring harness??
Hey guys,
I'm trying to help my friend out with their 2001 Chevy Blazer 4WD with a P0335. the car will not run, and there is no spark. we tried replacing the ICM, Coil, crank position sensor, no luck. Cap, rotor, spark plugs and wires were all done about a month ago.
I tried following the troubleshooting diagrams below:
https://blazerforum.com/forum/diagno...plained-35149/
but I had a couple issues:
* When looking at the schematic diagram, I cannot tell which wires are where in the connector.
* The colors for the wires are off, the diagram says purple, yellow, and pink for the crank position sensor connect, but I have yellow, pink or purple (can't tell which), and green.
* The diagram says pins 28 and 31 on the VCM harness, but there is no wire on pin 28 on either of the two connectors on the VCM, so I'm not sure if I should also not trust pin 31 on the VCM harness
***ALL PROBING DONE WITH KEY IN THE ON POSITION***
My issue is that when I probe pin 31 (yellow wire) on the VCM harness, I get +12V, even when both the VCM and CKP sensor are disconnected. I also get +5V on the pink wire and yellow wire on the CKP sensor connector when the VCM harness, CKP sensor connector, and 15A ECM I fuse is pulled.
I double checked like 50 times because I kept thinking it couldn't be right, so I'm positive on my findings.
my questions are:
* can someone tell me the real colors for the wires in the CKP sensor circuit?
* Can someone tell me the real pins and which connector (blue or red) on the VCM harness the wires actually go to as well as the colors of the wires?
* Can someone tell me where the wires are routed from the CKP sensor back to the fuse block or VCM?
* Is the VCM that big metal heat sinked thing by the battery? or am I looking in the wrong spot?
Any help would be much appriciated!
Thanks Guys!
