Other day i was heading down a 2 lane road. Its 55 mph limit and came up on granny going 35. I was driving about 58 when i floored it to pass her. Well it downshifted to it felt like 2nd and held around 5500 rpm but the truck BARELY accelerated. I let off the throttle and hit it again and same thing. So i slowed down to about 45 and floored it and the truck took off like it was a bat out of hell. I just dont have any top end power! I know these tbi heads suck at flowing on top but i know it could of done better. No engine lights are on etc and its in good running order.
91 s10 blazer
30" tires
3.42 gears
single exhaust with a glasspack,no cat.
K&n intake
tune ups been done back in January with ALL ac delco parts.
Timing is at 4* advanced
700r4 4x4.
Would the detent cable cause this if it was adjusted incorrectly?
I know it needs a trans fluid/filter change. but it still should of pulled better then what it did.
-------------------------------------------------- EDIT -------------------------------------------------
Update.
Found the problem and "fixed it".
Destroyed motor mount on drivers side. The alternator got into the top rad hose. So i checked into the mounts and the drivers side was completely torn apart. So i chained the engine down to the frame(chained where the powersteering bracket mounts to the exhaust manifold to the frame) like i did my blazer i had a few years ago which lasted 4 years when i sold it. Fixed the issue and gained some torque back. I guess that was enough of a torque lost that it caused problems up top where its lacking power to begin with. It also feels much better too.
