You need 60 psi to start...do leakdown test if money is an issue start with the fpr if not go straight for the spider assembly ...good luck

Open the Plenum. Look for washing. Washing on the passenger side indicates a leaking fpr. Washing on the driver side indicates a leaking nut kit.
For giggles before you do any of this replace the fuel filter if you have not already. Sometimes its the little things.

53 psi is acceptable, and only leaking down to 50 over 10 min indicates that there isnt a leak going on to worry about. Also when the FPR leaks with my experiance it makes cold starts easy, warm starts are the trouble areas, not to mention the fuel in the oil. 53 PSI is low still. I think the key here is it starts when jumped. Take a fuel pressure reading when being jumped or with a known good battery.

53 is not acceptable. The accepted range is 60 to 65 and must hold for 10 minutes without going below 55. And you don't have to open the plenum to look at the FPR. Just look down the throttle body with a flashlight. As stated earlier, try just changing the fuel filter. Your leakdown isn't very much, I would be leaning more to the pump since your prime number is so low. Check out the diy section to see how to modify a gauge to dead head the pump to rule it out.

i was going to just the pump for testing.
also it very weird that it will start and run wean jumped.
the things i can think of are
1. dragging fuel pump
2. dragging starter
3. battery not holding a charge over night but passes battery test wean charged.
