Thought you had it at -3.8. -31.2 is too much. If so, go another tooth.

Please post a screen shot of your Data Grid with CMP retard.

At 1000rpm the cam ret bounces from -3.2 to -32.2?? I can't get the truck to maintain 2000rpm.

Does the OBDII scanner not being connected to the internet cause my difficulty in connecting Dash Commander?

Nope! Let me think on your problem for a bit with the CMP retard and codes being set. Something odd going on.

Here's the factory diagnostic info on the P0335, and associated wiring diagrams for P0335 and P0341. Still thinking and writing - wait for it please.

OK you have 3 pending codes:

P0200 - Fuel Injector Circuit (incorrect voltage on fuel injector circuit for at least 5 seconds)
P0335 - Crank Position Sensor Circuit (no signal for >3 seconds) - a new code.
P0341 - Cam Position Sensor Circuit (reference pulse not detected)

Crank and cam sensors are sensors wired between only outputs/inputs of the PCM.
Fuel injectors are powered all the time, but activated by grounding through the PCM.

You are having trouble keeping scanner connected.

I'm going to speculate that you have a harness grounded on the passenger side exhaust (next to the PCM - the tube forward to the A.I.R. check valve from the manifold also gets really hot) or there is a ground problem at the rear of the heads (there are several harness grounds). Please check all of these very carefully, and of course make sure the cam sensor is plugged in.

Only other thing I can think of at the moment is that sometimes the cam sensor (if not mounted correctly) can get hit with the rotating piece. This was true on my Blazer when I got a new distributor. If all else fails you may want to check that.

I'll see if I can find diagrams of the harness grounds on the heads.

Commonly not hooked up after engine install. Sometimes cut off or broken off.

G102 and G103 on passenger side head
G104 and G105 on driver's side head.

Wiring harness can get melted and grounded on front of passenger side exhaust manifold after engine or head R&R

Default Back on the Blazer

After long hiatus I decided to go the route of injector spider. When I pulled the connection at the spider off I found pins for #3 cyl. bent at 45 degree angle. I knew it couldn't possibly be making contact with those bends. So after getting a little bit excited I carefully straightened the pins, and carefully reconnected the harness. It made absolutely no change in the way it ran! What the??? Drove it 200ft and check engine light came on again. I don't know what codes because I couldn't get Dash Command to link up with my scanner. Can I check for continuity between those two pins to see if maybe they're broken internally due to the bending of those pins?
