Jeez I've been posting way to many problems on here than I'd like to. But right now my 84 k5 is leaking something from the top of the 305 and it's burning on the headers causing a a lot of white smoke. Oil leak maybe? I can repair things easy but I can't diagnose problems. Any help would be much appreciated. If you need more details or some pictures let me know.

White smoke is coolant burning. Most of the time a bad head gasket.

 

If it's coming from under the hood, burning off the headers, it likely is valve cover gasket leaks allowing oil to drip down onto the headers.

It is quite common for folks to over tighten the valve cover bolts resulting in bent valve covers in the area of the bolts which ends up with next to no gasket compression elsewhere. Replacing the valve cover gaskets is very straight forward, but you have to straighten out the valve cover prior to reinstalling them if you hope to get them to seal up properly again. This involves a little time with a hammer & dolly with a straight edge to check your work. Or you could just get some cast valve covers and dress up your engine.

So it turns out it was the grommet you put the oil in, the housing seal was loose therefor leaking oil. probably broke loose from too many jumps.

 

glad it was a simple fix. Much betta then headgaskets or exhaust gaskets.
