Default 1973 transfer case question

Hello, I'm new here. Just bought a stock 73 from the original owner and I think I have the 203 transfer case but the tailshaft looks different than pics I see here. The tailshaft is one piece iron not the two pieces I typically see. There are no hubs, the tc is huge and cast iron. The selector has low-lock,low,high, and high lock. I've read about the 205tc and wondering if it is worth converting to one. Thanks, Tony

What do you plan on doing with the truck?

You can do the part time conversion to the transfer case and add front lockout hubs to get 2HI operation for less hassle than installing a NP205. The NP203 has a slightly lower LO to.

I'm planning on restoring it over the winter to keep me occupied and then using it as a regular vehicle on paved and mountain roads. I picked up a 205 tc with the adapter and sleeve but it does not have a shifter and I cannot seem to locate one. Anyone here have one for sale?
Thanks Anthony

You can do the twin stick mod that ORD (OffRoadDesign.com) sells a twin stick kit for $210 that will allow you to independently control front and rear outputs on the NP205.

IMO, for mostly on-road and some mountain trails, your NP203 will be more than adequate. It is quite easy to do the part-time conversion.
