Hello! My 1981 K5 350 4x4 is completely stock, and I've had it 10+ years and knew the owners back to the early 90's!
Anyway- my power steering bracket is cracked and falling apart (or else I'd weld it up, a piece is now missing below the pump)
I guess its a strange bracket because the car has working factory A/C, I am having a hard time finding a replacement bracket.
Attached photos of what mine looks like. Stuff like you see in summit I can't see working because it puts the adjustment on the wrong side and moves the fill hole under the A/C compressor.
This was has me stumped, if anyone can help I'd be greatly thankful, this is my daily driver! Looking from the front of the car down. You can see how the pump has to be tilted left to be able to fill it up and clear the AC Looking from driver side fender, the compressor is just above it and that is where it adjusts What you typically find on the net. I can't see that working?
Is this a dead forum? Anyways, found a replacement at a junk yard.
I was told its a very rare bracket, I guess because that's a 350 4x4 with a radial ac compressor and that style PS pump it puts the fill port offset to the left due to the ac compressor.
Would be nice to find a billet replacement, because im pretty sure this one will crack again too.
