So the previous owner installed a 700R4 and put a chrome tranny dipstick in it. I don't trust the thing.
If I pull a dipstick out of a junkyard truck with a 700R4 will it read correctly?
I think the body measurements are fairly similar but I want to be positive it will read correctly.

 

The dipstick will be matched to the tube, so get both while you're at the yard.

 

Last time I checked they were very cheap brand new at the dealer as well, and they have the upgraded dipstick handle with the locking lever and o-rings... I think I paid $30 or so?
