84- Dimmer Light Wire - where is it?

Default 84- Dimmer Light Wire - where is it?

New to the forum gang... just got a 84 K5 on big lift on 35in swampers. Love th truck so far. Question... I'm adding a tach, have everything done but the dimmer light...tach is working. Can't find the right wire to tie into to....(so the tach lights up at night) any help would be great.

You should be able to find the proper wire at the headlight switch. Use a test light to determine which wire gets +12V when the headlights are on. It should be the dark green wire at the headlight switch.

Thanks! Is there an easy way to get to the wire? I looked under the dash... can't make it up that far. I guess the I could take the light **** off and pull the thing out forward?

Drop the panel from under the steering column and you should be able to get up there.
