Default 87 k5 blazer no cat converter

I been working on a 87 k5 blazer.5.7 l,700th tranny..I have no catalytic coverter in the truck,it was bought that way..Is there any tips anyone out there can give me to make the truck run better? I recently changed out the fuel pump and the radiator cooling temp sensor which made a big dfference in cold starts..But when the engines cold it seems kinda shakey till the thermostat kicks in then it settles down..Is this normal?Any help will be greatly appreciated!!

I'm betting that it doesn't have the heat riser in the passenger side exhaust tube. The heat riser was a thermo-spring controlled restrictor valve that accellerated the warmup of the engine by restricting the exhaust flow.
