But are you sure it has a 350 engine in it...? No, you just took the word of the previous owner... You really don't know what you have until you take the time and identify it. I spent the first few days after I brought my K5 home pulling numbers off of things to identify them. If you don't know what you have, any information we give you is general at best.
I've said this before as well. Don't be afraid to GOOGLE things. "GM Small Block Identification", "GM Transfer Case Identification", "GM Axle Identification", "Rochester Quadrajet Identification", etc. Then you will actually know what you have and can ask directed, precise questions rather than generic, "hope it's right" questions. Show some effort.
And I'm sorry, but you should have thought about the whole school/work/college thing before spending too much money (IMO) on a project truck that, from the sounds of it, you barely have time for. But you haven't listened to hardly a word I've said thus far so I don't know why I bother...

i was just stating the facts of what i got going on, yes i know other people have crap going on too, im just juggling alot and trying to figure out what i want to go into as a career, most likely a mechanic. its a project truck, obviously its gonna take time and money, not gonna finish it over night
