Default clogged air intake?

Wasn't sure where to put this. Ihave a '94 full size. I have water coming in through the blower fan area(passenger side). Happening for a while and I'm replacing the carpets, front and back. Is there an air intake that could be clogged and water overflowing somehow into the blower? With perhaps with pine needles.? I tookethe grilling off(under the wipers) but coldn't figure how to get to what looks like the outside air intake and clean it out. Any ideas?

That's a new one to me. I wonder if maybe a clogged evap drain would cause that. Look around under the heaterbox for just like a little rubber hose or exit point for water
