Default Converting electric rear window to manual?

What would I need to do to convert the electric rear window in an 88 K5 to a manual? Just switch out parts from a manual tailgate? Thanks

that would be it.
question, why would you want to get rid of the power window? that's one of the best things i love about my 'Burb. plus the fact that the barn doors are a pain to see through with the rear view mirror . kinda why i don't like vans either.

that electric window is nice when it actually works. yeah all you need is the guts from a manual tailgate and the outside manual crank if you can find one of those... good luck finding one i never seen one in a junkyard ever

Thanks, I was able to grab some parts from our local pick-n-pull. That cash for clunkers really filled up our pick-n-pulls. There were 5 K5 blazers at the one I was at with a lot of good parts and everyone had a tailgate!

where are you located that the "Cash-for-Clunker's" program is tossing the vehicles into the wreckers after?

edit:
didn't see that you added your location now, sorry about that. but still, how are the vehicles ending up in the wreckers?

That would be all you need, the guts from a manual rear tailgate. I am actually pulling all of the parts together to swap over to a power tailgate. I have the power regulator and a good motor and hope to be picking up a used but rust free tailgate w/ glass Saturday to put the power regulator into.

They can either go to a scrap yard or a junk yard. Its the dealers choice. If they go to a junk yard they have to be scraped within 90 days. All of ours went to the scrap yard since they would pay the most for them.

i don't get it. they "smoke" the engine so it can never see the road again, fine.......i kind of understand their reasoning with that. then they have a choice as o where it goes next? and if the vehicle goes to a wreckers, to be parted out, it can only sit there for 90 days? why?? what would it matter if the car sat there for 6 months if it still had valuable parts left on it?

Try LMC truck parts they are on line, you can rebuild your whole truck through them.
