Default Dash Wiring and Cluster Question - 86 K5 Diesel

I have a 1986 K5 Blazer 4x4 DieselI’m in the process of fixing it up a 1986 K5 Diesel Blazer. I removed the instrument cluster to have it repaired. I have the wiring diagram (http://www.73-87chevytrucks.com/tech...10_30_Only.pdf). I believe I’ve almost figured out where everything goes. Behind the dash there's 5 wired socket and bulb hanging in there. based on the wire diagram i believe i found where they install on the cluster:

· “Glow Plugs” (orange/black, black),

· “Low Coolant” (pink/black, gray),

· “4WD” (white and brown).

· “Water in Fuel” Pink/black, yellow

· black- single wire (I think this goes to the ashtray?).

· All other empty socket locations I intend to install socket w/ bulbs. Correct?

D.A. Alert!

1. I have a wired connection coming out of the cluster (light green female end, 3 wired connector. The wires are green, black, red). Have no idea what this plugs into. Any ideas?

2. Behind the dash there's a 1/2" x 3/8” black female connector (plug) single black wire. No idea what this plugs into. Any Ideas?

3. Behind the dash there’s also a 1/2" x 3/8” white female connector (plug). 3 wired connector. The wires are pink/black, black, yellow. No idea what this plugs into. Any Ideas?

Any help is appreciated.

Thank you

Don't feel too bad...you aren't alone in that!

time to become good friends with a wiring diagram..they are all on line.

Agreed! I wouldn't be as far along without the wiring diagram noted above. Just can't seem to find what and where the plugs go noted above. i'll keep reviewing the diagram. Any additional help is appreciated.

There Should be plastic labels in the cluster that the light bulbs shine thru. Might put a flash light behind and light them up to see which indicator goes in what socket.

The single black wire...does it have a female spade terminal inside? A rectangular housing? Those tend to go on male spade terminals on switches or spade terminals on the fuse block.Could also be a spare.

I believe I've determined where the sock and bulbs go on the cluster. Yes I shined a flashlight and determined what went where. The single black wire with rectangular housing has a male spade terminal inside.

thank you

If its a male spade then it should go to a female spade on a wire. Female spades arent usually mounted on another assembly.
