driver's side upper rear shock mount
My Blaze is 1977 so i don't know if this is a common thing...but the drivers side rear shock upper portion is bolted into somesort of plate that is riveted on top portion of the related peice of frame. Well, i snapped that plate in half the other day. I can't find this plate anywhere (LMC, DYI) so i am wondering if anyone knows the easiest modification to hook that shock back up? I am considering just drilling a hole in the side of the frame in the area and bolting it straight to the frame...like the other side. The drivers side shockis the shock that angles backward if that makes any difference.

I had the same problem on my 1985. The Fly-n-hi off road shop in Phoenix, AZ has a reinforcement plate that will bolt to the frame and replace the existing upper shock attach point. The part comes with attaching hardware. 602-493-0188, www.fly-n-hi.com
My comment on shock mount location was more geared towards the original poster of this thread as he had made a statement of moving the shock mount to the frame.
If you can, post the picture into this thread. It may be something that I can make up before hand and swap out when I have things apart during my various rebuild tasks.
