I've got an '84 K5 Jimmy and pondering the idea of doing a drivetrain swap. Wanting to find a newer model (Vortec), trans, transfer, front and rear axles from a 4x4 truck. Currently have 5.7L Edelbrock 650cfm carb with TH350. Just want to put something in that will get me better mpg and something different. Will be starting a total rebuild at the beginning of the year, wanting to get a game plan together before the cash starts flowing away, lol.

 

its very possible. see builds about it on other sites i also plan to do this to my 86 when i get bored enough. sorry i cant be specifically helpful but google around i run into builds like this all the time i just havent saved any
