The full time transfer case is the NP203. The part time kit consists of parts to replace the factory differential located in the transfer case with a straight coupling to the rear axle. This allows for dedicated 2wd mode when you have the transfer case in either HI or LO. These kits are coupled with lockout hubs on the front axle to fully disengage the front axle at the wheels. To get to full 4wd, you must put the transfer case in either HI LOC or LO LOC and lockup the hubs at each front wheel.

There are a few different manufacturers of part time kits for the NP203. You can find more information about it online.
