Autotrac full-time clutch question???
Is the clutch inside the auto-trac transfer case capable of achieving a full-time 4wd system? Does this clutch just lock when engaged??? Or could it send a variable ammount of torque to the front wheels if needed?? I know the computer in automode makes it so it ramps it up to a 50/50 split but all im saying is that clutch capable of a torque split if the computer just sent pulses to it???[/align]

RE: Autotrac full-time clutch question???
What transfer case are you speaking of? What is it in or from?
The earlier transfer cases were a dedicated 30/70 F/R split, IIRC.
The newer NV136 transfer cases are variable from 0/100 F/R to beyond 50/50 F/R from what I remember reading.

RE: Autotrac full-time clutch question???
Yeah im talking about the newer t-cases in a 2002 chevy suburban its the Auto-trac t-case what i meant is if the computer would pulse that clutch and make it now ramped up to the same power as the rear would it be capable of doing this acting like a full-time unit.
Sorry if its confusing basically i am saying is that clutch in the t-case capable of spinning the front driveline at a different speed than the rear so it could be a full-time unit if it was set up that way
