hard gas pedal
ya i just bought a beautiful 1992 k5 blazer. It runs great and all, but the gas pedal is hard. Just your intial push to get it going. It seems like its stuck ono something when it comes back. But once you get it going its fine.
Any suggestions?

sounds like the cable that goes from the gas pedel to your throttle baby have some rust in it. you can try to work some lube like silicone spray into the sheathing but you may be better off getting a new cable
Had the same problem on my '90 Blazer. Spray Carb cleaner used to clean out the cable, two different types of lube, and it worked for a short time. Problem came back and repeated the process. I was ready to replace the TBI body because I found a worn shaft that "might" have been the problem, but decided to replace the cable first. Found it at the dealer, about $35.00 and it fixed everything. Never did replace the TBI body and haven't had a problem yet. It's even an easy replacement.
Try this, when you disconnect the cable from the throttle body, operate the TBI lever and see if it is hard to move by hand. If you don't feel that initial hard effort to move it, it's probably the cable. And, it's a lot cheaper and easier to replace the cable, although cleaning the TBI throttle blades is not a hard job.
Good luck and let us know what you find.
