Everything I've ever seen in print and in practice says blocks in front are a very very bad idea. With the forces involved with what all the front end does, (steering, stopping, , and suspending the chassis) the chances of the blocks bending, breaking, or twisting out are just too great and that's something you don't want ever: on the street or the trail. The taller the blocks, the worse it gets.

The kits you see out there are designed and sold for a reason: to keep you safe and them out of lawsuits for selling something dangerious. I don't know of any of the truck manufacturers that have put blocks in the front end of any truck leaving the factory.

Anyone know of a "good" way to use blocks in front?

DO NOT use lift blocks in the front! They will "roll" out under hard cornering. I rolled a truck over doing this exact same thing back in the late 80s. I wanted to save money lifting my truck. I ended up in the hospital and with a totaled 65 Chevy 4x4 to boot.
