Default How much water in intake?

Today I decided I wanted to wash my muddy engine bay on the K5.

So I took some grocery bags, stuffed them in the intake, covered my alternator and cover my battery, laced the engine bay with degreaser then lighty rinsed my engine off.

I then proceeded to start the car, but forgot to pull the bags out of the intake, so I got out, pulled them out, and all seemed fine. However...

I am extremely paranoid. I have a feeling that a small amount of water could have gotten into the intake (I have early model EFI throttle body)

My question is..can a few water droplets getting into the intake cause any issues? I did drive the K5 a bit after washing the engine and didn't seem to have any issues.

Thanks!

A "few droplets" of water wont do anything to your motor, it takes more than that to mess with it. Back in the day, old hotrodders used to get their motors up to temp and , with the motor running, used to take a spray bottle and mist water into the carb to "steam clean" the pistons and combustion chambers. Dunno if it actually worked but some swore by it. That little bit you got in there just got burned away, I'd say yer good to go.

having owned many k5s that used to do a lot of deep water diving, ive sucked water into my carb a few times with no ill effects other then it running like crap when it happened. if you get a lot in there you will bend and break stuff but yeah a little misting or few drops wont hurt anything, itll just blow out the exhaust when the valves open.
