no 4x4
i was climbinga hill in the snow, and engaged the four wheel drive, locked in the hubs, and nothing was going to the front. the tranfser case engaged in 4h and 4l at the actual case, but nothing is going to the wheels. the front driveshaft was even spinning crazy as i floored it. can hear hubs engaging, so its not that for sure. and the tranfser was going into gear. so why wont it send power to the front? 86 blazer, 700r4 np208, engine is 350 from a 77 truck. can anyone help me out?
If only one hub was actually locking in, it would act as though no power was being sent to the front. Can you have someone watch either of the axle shafts at the steering pivots? This would help you to pin point which one is at fault. You could do this in your driveway with the rear end on jack stands.
already did it. the front drive shaft wont even spin. its like there isnt anything going to that drive shaft. but likei said, its going into gear at the case, just nothing is coming out of the front.
Ok so I'm confused... The transfer case is engaging properly, but the driveshaft between the transfer case and the front axle is not turning? Even with the front hubs engaged?? I guess I thought that the front driveshaft was being powered by the transfer case, but the wheels were not spining...
If the case is not driving the front shaft, it probably is a broken chain.
