Doxadan, nice job hijacking a thread... I'll answer though, where do you live, I mean what climate. Is it hot outside, +80*? Did you go to Jiffy Lube and just let them put in whatever oil they had on sale? You shouldn't use the same oil that they use in their Honda's... I don't use less than a 20weight, in some of my motors I run 20/50, typically though you should be fine with anything surrounding 30SAE, 20/30, straight 30, 20/40 etc... you should always have at least 10psi on the gauge, if you don't then you're asking for trouble as the oil will not be circulating, that means something isn't getting any oil at all, and that means something is going to go boom. Rule of thumb si 10pounds of pressure for every 1,000 rpms and you're fine. Every motor is different though. You could have 40psi at idle and 50 at 6,500rpm, that's fine, just as long as it isn't 0.

I'm thinking the sending unit has to be off. When I first start the vehicle it idles @ 60PSI regardless if it's in park or in gear, however after approx. 10 minutes of driving, it'll idle in gear or park @ approx 25PSI and as soon as I start accelerating it climbs to about 60PSI.

Can anyone else tell me what their gauge on their blazer does?

yea think I did hijack it not intentional ... The truck has set up for 7 or 8 months now. I drive it around the block a few times a month. I don't even remember what was put in it and by who. I going to change it and try the recommendation of the oil types and see what that does.

m4t5lm5n222,
That sounds like the typical operation. At startup oil is cold and acting like a 40 weight, as it warms up the viscosity decreases. With the decrease in viscosity the pressure will drop until you rev the engine where the pump will be spinning faster and creating more pumping volume. Pressure will increase as volume increases as long as there is resistance.
