Default Stalls on hills

Hey, I am currently on a trip to the states and ever since I filled up it seems like the truck putters then stalls on hills and in revers sometimes.

It is an 87 6.2l diesel blazer.

This has never been an issue before and is starting to worry me?

If someone has any suggestions please let me know because I have a long trip home and need the truck in good working condition.

Thanks a lot!

There are diesel specific products that you can use if you suspect water in the fuel. I can't remember what it was that we used at my father's farm when I was growing up, but we had some tractors that were always getting water in the fuel for one reason or another.

Ok, I bought a bunch of kerosene and put it in the tank.

I let the water out of the fuel filter and some did come out.

It seems to be running a bit better but I'll have to see tomorrow on my drive home.

There are also no leaks on the tank or the lines.

Should I adjust the idle speed a bit?

Just thought I'd give an update, I made it home fine and things seemed to get better as the day went on.

Couple of things I noted, the alternator was charing 14-15v with no accessories which makes me believe that there is something wrong with the battery, will be checking it later today.
